From a young age I always knew I wanted to help others, as I grew that feeling was stronger, so I decided to go to medical school in my country, Honduras, and graduated as a medical doctor. During my adolescence and in college I struggled with overweight, anxiety, irritable bowel syndrome, polycystic ovary syndrome and depression. I visited several professionals to help me with my issues, but it was unsuccessful given that they prescribed lots of drugs, including pills for weight loss. In my mind I asked myself, what can I do? As a doctor I knew some medications were going to harm something else in my body.
So, I thought to myself “no way”, I’m not going to take all these drugs. After reading a lot and trying somethings on my own I decided my next step: to get a masters in clinical nutrition in the European Atlantic University of Spain, and my journey to wellness began. Everything started to make more sense, I now know that each body is different, I learned to listen to my body and to heal with food, there is no “one size fits all”. What’s good for me, might not be the best for you.
As a medical doctor, I was taught that chronic diseases are normal, BUT THEY ARE NOT, there are so many factors that influence our health that we don’t learn in medical school. Every day that passed by I understood more, read more, researched natural medicine, healthy environments, meditation and the effects of stress in our life and I ended up discovering my coaching career; I got a certification as a Holistic Health Coach in the Institute of Integrative Nutrition of NY. The journey to health is long, but worth it, I was finally able to keep my life decisions, my health, and most importantly help hundreds reach their health and target weight.
Our food can be the best way of medicine, food sustains healthy bones, brain and blood, when we eat well we think more clearly and have more energy. Sickness and chronic diseases are raising due to our fast life style and the quality of food we consume. And the health care system will take care of one issue and probably generate another.
Let me guide you to take back control of your health, it takes time, it won’t happen overnight!
But you will love the transformation process, eating new exciting and delicious food, doing the physical activity that suits you better, building long lasting relationships, enjoying the outdoors, relieving yourself from stress and anxiety and lots more!
If you’re ready to take the challenge I will be happy to guide you toward better health.
